I heard that NS was going to arrange the Conrail Rocket to lead something through Newport on the day of the CRHS BBQ!

Did you hear that from David Nelson?

When I talked to them at the Rocky Mountain show, I could barely get them to commit to 'this year' for the announcement.

Yeah, it was kind of a weird conversation.  Maybe he just didn't know and didn't want to say anything wrong, but he sure didn't make it seem like there was any hurry on getting it announced even though the samples had already been widely seen.

Of course the BLI guy said there would be new N scale steam in the next catalog (which there wasn't), so maybe what's said at these shows isn't worth much.  :|

You think? But in this case it's pics, and they used to be worth a thousand words.

..or maybe something or some condition changed..... it's not uncommon for conditions and offshore commitments to radically change overnight..... I can sympathize.....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

From what I can see of the PC 8512 (PRR 9412) has it problems, when in service with the PRR, PC 8515 rode on friction bearing trucks ( Withers PRR Diesel Locomotive Pictorial, Vol 10 EMD Switchers pg.757).
The other problem is what appears to be louvered vents on top of the hood, PC 8512 when in PRR service had wire mesh screen over that area http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=2575159  (not 9412 but loco from same order #)

With these problems, hope Arnold produces a undec with the right trucks so it would easier to modify.
