It certainly appears that samples of the units and packaging exist..... First glance these look rather nice. Wonder what their delivery schedule will look like?
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Just like their last offering the shell looks really good but I'm curious about the mechanism.  :|  Also the B&M unit should have bright silver trucks - those look dull gray.  Yes, they can be painted but in my experience (unless sandblasted first), Pint does not stick well to slippery engineering plastic.

I'm also curious about the mechanism.  As it turned out, the problems with the U25C seem to have been poor assembly, primarily on the NP models, so I'm hoping that these will be good, any bugs will be worked out before mass production, and the assemblers will be well trained before starting.

Well the pint is supposed to go in your mouth, not on a locomotive ;)

But yes even on the NP U25C's the Silver trucks looked decidedly grey  :|

Have there been two announcements? I remember the blue B&M ones being announced but not the black ones.

Fortunately the U25C trucks are very easy to paint, and, at least on mine, the paint seems to be sticking.  The sideframes simply pull off, with no need to remove or disassemble the trucks, so they can be painted or weathered without tampering with the mechanism.  The units actually run fine without the sideframes, although they do help retain the wheel contacts.

There is an easier solution...You just need the right primer.....If it works for delrin handrails, a sideframe should be no problem...

I would have never guessed this model made it into blue CR paint!
