Ok, I might have to try that technique, good thing I already have a steel ruler...
Now what should i use to straighten the ties out? I noticed some are really prone to being crooked if you try to straighten curved flex..

As long as the rails are straight, I wouldn't worry much about the tie alignment unless it's preventing straight rails.  :D
In seriousness, the ties can be straightened easily enough with some minor effort.

No modeling for a long time but I got a very nice addition to my roster.
This could be a late version of the CNW Peninsula 400 thanks to Bill Denton (@skytop35) for making a Bi-Level diner.  :)





I totally forgot that my ConCor Bi-Levels still have their Rapido couplers, so no running train this time....

Thanks Brian. Yes, I'm doing pretty well. Getting around a little better even though I'm in the cast for another 3 & 1/2 weeks.

I have posted a photo similar to this before, but I thought it would only be logical to post this photo today in the light of Leonard Nimoy's passing on 2/27/15.



I had the honor of meeting him several times and here is a photo of a much younger High School me getting my Mr. Spock poster autographed after his appearance in a play in the Chicago area. This was probably in 1967 - 1968 while Star Trek was still on the air.



Also, many thanks for keeping the Forum Banner set to the "Spock" version of it this weekend!

Finally finished "foobricating" some loads for my Athearn mill gondolas. The car department was on my a$$ about these constantly running empty and earning no revenue. Switcher 234 is setting out some high-pressure exhaust duct fittings at the local steam plant. Parts are foobed from surplus Warhammer 40k parts. Hope my son will not mind I picked through all his kits!

I'm on vacation this coming week and will probably spend lots of time in the basement!

thx Jon...nope no protection there.  The track does camber inwards but I guess if a train barreled around the corner and picked a point at that switch it could happen.  I wonder why a derailment hasn't occurred as I sure would have noticed!?  On the positive side, it is a branch line traversed once maybe twice per operating session by a single train and its operator at 10 - 15 miles per hour.  On the negative side that train *is* piloted by my favorite loco and I would be devastated if it hit the ground.

Thanks for pointing it out...I will think about it but for now...Living life dangerously!

I was thinking about that too actually. A little bit of plexiglas is all you need. A clear wall.
