The color hues and car number series on the State of Maine cars are not what I would have used, although the MTL carbody chosen is the prototypically correct one.

I'm very glad I'm no longer an MTL collector/accumulator.

I think the colors of everything are a bit off. Maybe it's a computer problem?

The blue on the SoM is way too light and way too warm for it to be a photo color-balance error.  The red is off as well, too bright.  They look like the colors used on their previous SoM releases, which have been incorrect (on all levels).

Does that hold for the number series used also, given that it's already been specified on all the literature?

I'll wait until someone else posts a photo, because I won't be getting one.

The SoM car is probably fully ink-jet-printer decorated anyway. The colors will be made up from bunch of tiny cyan-magenta-yellow dots.

I am now very hesitant to buy any new MT cars because I don't like their new decorating methods.  My last disappointment was the Openheimer Casings car I just bought - instead of spray-painting the green sides and Tampo printing the artwork, the are fully ink-jet printed.  I don't like the textured look with fuzzy color demarcation.  I realize that my standards of acceptable decoration quality seem to be higher than an average modelers, but I am what I am.  ;)  I guess I've collected enough cars already - no need to buy new reprints (even if they are on a more correct car).

Fair enough - the BLW site does say hi res photos will be posted at a later date.
