some time ago these were custom painted.
I kinda like them.
I found one on the bay.
They may well have been there all the time and I never tripped over one.
a post card from the bottom of the pencil drawer.
A photo in case you don't recall the car

Wow. I remember that guy, he was a regular poster on the old Atlas board, had a wonderful concept and equipment roster developed. Worked for Virginia Railway Express commuter services. I think he had these commissioned to be printed.

like the 1 here also !!
did think the modern graphics on the ancient H21 were odd, but wasn't
the theory they were bought cheap by VARR and rebuilt ?
then He morphed into "Warfish" ?
wonder if He is "Southern Snakehead" today ?
fun times from the Atlas Forum.

I remember warfish.... and that the toxic avenger was involved also.

Sorry for the Necro, but I missed this when it was "fresh" and didn't want anyone to think I'd gone and died or somesuch.
It's nice to see these old cars, still love that old scheme, will always have a warm place in my heart, as will so many of the names here at Railwire (and back when at Atlas).
Sadly, I did give up the hobby many moons ago now, at least the scale version. I'm 15 years in now working for the 1:1 scale (albeit not "on the road" as it were).
I still love me some trains, and I get the privilege to do schemes for the real things, be in real yards, help build real systems, and see them every day, etc. Good times most days.
One of the funnest days as a train fan was seeing a N-scale model made commercially of something I designed the real-world scheme for. Too cool.
But thanks for the kind mentions, don't think that guys like you all get forgotten. You'll always have a friend out on the tracks (well, the office, but same difference).
Oh, and I still have an entire box of those old Hoppers, along with all the old VARR-painted equipment. Maybe one day that VARR coal train will ride again!
