f. Programming is highly layered. You certainly don't know - and sometimes can't know - what is going on at the lowest levels that might be influencing your product's behaviors. There are unexpected surprises at every turn.
And these days we're talking about government agencies embedding malware into disk drive microcode. Try and debug that! Yikes!
