Neat lot of work going on in N Scale at the moment. There are some very talented people in our hobby. Makes you feel glad that you are part of it.

I got this shell a year or so ago when I heard that Mark 4 was no longer producing shells. He still had a 38-2 on hand, and it will soon become an EJ&E unit. I also had an extra frame and fuel tank modified to the shorter fuel tanks the Milwaukee Road had on their 40-2's, and a doner  cab & short hood to complete it. should be ready for paint shop soon.

next up is a Shapeways offering of an F40C unique to the Milwaukee Roads' Chicago Commuter district to Fox Lake and Elgin. It was designed to fit a Kato 40-2 frame. Hope to have it painted and detailed for the Fox Valley NMRA show at Harper College in just over 2 weeks pulling a string of modified Con Cor bilevels over the Modu Trak layout past A-20
Have a Lok Sound on order for it, should be able to fit 2 Donau speakers in the back end. any one put two speakers in anything? is it worth it?

Rick, that Shapeways shell cleaned up nice. I recently purchased an AEM-7 shell. Its a lot better than my previous experience with Shapeways products, but still requires a lot of cleanup.

Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I don't halve a lot of experience with shapeways, mostly vehicles from HuskerNscale which are relatively small. Since this is potentially a "signature" loco, I took my time, took pictures, studied the pictures on the computer where you can see stuff well, , then went back & touched it up. Gave it a coat of primer, took some more pics & did the same.  Next up is the Alcad chrome treatment, then the white and blue, then the details affected by masking. Seriously thinking about getting another one, but going to contact designer with some suggestions first.
