If anyone is looking for N scale lumber carriers for their mill, I ran across this model on Shapways today:

I'd love to see some quality pics of these when you get them.

Chalk it up as one of those things you thought you'd never see in N-scale!  I can remember these actually roaming city streets in the late 60's where I grew up in Grays Harbor, so I was overjoyed to see it on Shapeways.  A very nice job overall!

Did it come prepainted?  Or did you whip it up that quick?

Are there existing plans for lumber carriers anywhere?  I mean, this seems like a pretty basic model and I'm wondering if further detailing would improve it.  I'd really like to find a slightly more modern Hyster like this:

Those of you that spent a lot of time on the old Atlas board may remember a particularly remarkable job of doing the Westside Lumber Heisler in N scale, using a Kato 11-105 chassis.    The individual's name is Gerd Ziller, he's still a very active modeler and also does some incredible live steam.  His handle is "Waldbahner", same guy.    West Side Logging in N.

He sent me a set of etched running gear parts for his Heisler, still have them.  Wonderful modeler.

Pretty much everything you'll see in his Shapeways work directly ties to his West Side Lumber modeling, so you can assume this is the right version/era for that.

Details N Scale out of Portland makes the lumber stacks.  He also does nice log loads.
