Foobie, its a fake. Typically in model RR speak, its a car that the proto didn't have, but a manufacturer has painted up for.

Ah, a "foobie".  That word was was censored on the Atlas forum in its day.  I guess "foob" is just a shortened version.

Foobie is well defined on the Internet ( http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Foobie ) and I the first definition of foob I found in a Google search is interesting (but unrelated to model RR) http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=foob . :D

For that matter neither definition is directly related to model RR, but after all who usually plays with toy trains?  Dirty old men! So it all eventually goes back to bumpy female body parts.  ;)

Eric: "Blatantly Inaccurate" is the way I think of it.  If the "wrong" model is close, and especially if it's sold as such, it's a "stand-in".  For many prototypes the perfect model may never be made, so a not-quite-right version is acceptable to most purchasers.  But if the car is visibly incorrect, to the average purchaser, it's a foobie.  Naturally, the dividing line depends on the individual buyer, but some models are so far off there's no doubt.

Sorry - you've asked.

I don't think he did. Pete, why do you keep trying to stir up trouble? Don't you understand cause and effect?
