I'm surprised that given the discussion when they were announced that it doesn't seem to big news if IM has samples there and if they are any good.

That said it looks like the Pan Am railways, Southern and CSX locks at the IM booth are N SD40-2's. Wish RMC had taken better shots that showed how the long hood detail looks.

No new N scale at the IMRC booth. The wartime boxcars are in production, should be out 2nd quarter.

How close are those New Haven coaches to the Boston and Maine and Maine Central order of 1947?

Pretty certain the 8600s are unique to the New Haven and its predecessors.

The 8600s were largely the Osgood - Bradley (American Flyer) coaches with updated windows (thermapaine like on other lightweight cars) and having corrugation applied.  They kept the curved roof and carbody ends of the earlier car as well as the slight curve to the sides, while the B&M and MEC cars were more like what you would find on a corrugated PS car.

Here is one that has had some corrugation removed...

Gotta get the well cars to market first and recoup some of the investment. No X65 this year.

Ok, can wait for the LV X65  8)

IM said the SD40-2 test shots won't be ready till Feb.
There's a shyness found in reason

Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I didn't get to roam much since I had my own table to man, but I managed to get some pics during the vendor-only pre-show session on Sunday.

More Atlas.
