These are some of the finest N scale cars ever but because I model 1950, I can't use any of them. What is the build date on the Wabash car, can't quite read it....
(I do own several small Keystone Pennsy cars from the original run).

Craig has posted photos of the PRR late SK cars on his website.  Repaint/reweigh of P54 4-59.  This is a really nice scheme.  Very balanced lettering arrangement.  Thanks.

The timing of the Sacramento Northern paint is beyond eerie. Unfortunately, I'm also targeting the early 1950's, before the decimation of the south end of the line in 1957. I'm probably going to get one anyway, just for the pure awesome that is RTR Sacramento Northern.

The SN, like many other Western Pacific subsidiaries, bought a lot of new rolling stock in the 50's. Basically, it was a way for WP to increase their freight car fleet without spending the money on the cars themselves. As far as range of travel goes, I've seen a photo of a PRR boxcar behind an SN locomotive in Oakland, so anything is possible! The SN's primary customers (at the south end, anyway) were a steel mill in Pittsburg and the Oakland Army Base.
