Looks great @chicken45 !

I absolutely have to note that the sand dome is NOT a Keystone Details Shapeway's part!   :D

It is a pewter casting that I made for Josh from a silicone mold made from a GHQ L1s shell.  Pr!ck just couldn't wait for the revised dome.  :trollface:   :D :D :D

It's true. Unfortunately the one I ordered from Shapeways didn't fit because of an error made by the designer! haha!  :D :trollface:

Josh, that looks great!
I especially like how the lighter colors brings out the detail, like the side of the tender, so we can count the rivets!

Dome could fit better., and could use some smoothing. 

I do like the weathering, though.  The water scale could be feathered out around the edges just a bit, but otherwise looks decent.

I agree with Ian on the fit of the dome. I would also tone down that airbrush effect around the wheels  etc. maybe add back in a little oily black to balance out the overall tone.
Nice loco overall.

I do like it, but I agree that tan/dirt effect on the drivers is too uniform.   Even some smudging of them with
black or gray weathering powders would add a little randomness to it so they look like they have dirt collected on
them instead of paint.

Your tender deck is dang AWESOME.  Best one of those I've ever seen.

Yep.  Its almost as if the sandy color is gradually pronounced as you go from the lead truck to the to the trailing truck, which makes sense if you think about it. Each wheel adding to the amount of stuff sprayed up, as in the first proto photo.  Love the difference in the lead truck wheels- nice catch.

Just like a winter salt spray pattern on a car- thicker and heavier as from front to back, also the coverage goes higher on the rear of the car due to the air pulling it up and over the sides, shows on the front edge of the tender.

BTW- NEVER noticed the speedo block on the front axle of the lead truck!  That would be a nice easy touch to add with some thick wire and a styrene block.

TOTALLY agree with Max on the tender deck.  Perfect.
