Don't you know that Josh is permanently blinded with rage?
basically he paints the whole structure the mortar color then dry brushes the brick color on with two or three layers and textures,
Thanks for all the input, guys! I'll be sure to post pics when I feel inspired to fix MG.But now...EPISODE IV: THE FADEGolden Titanium Buff thinned with windshield washer fluid.
Now there is a name for a color. I guess Buff has been done before.
I need to remove more of the wash to lighten up the car.
Josh,You should try to find photos of the prototype to work from, so that you don't second-guess yourself after finishing a weathering session. National Packing was fairly visible in the 1960s, so photos should be readily accessible in any of the various books on ice reefers that have been published.
Due to the upcoming BLI onslaught on my wallet, I'm limited to free pictures on the internet. Of a photo I found, it looked more like black than any Browns mixed in. I usually do mix in a little brown but didn't this time. I called it a night to let the paint dry more so I can be precise about it. Still a WIP and leaning adventure. And thanks for the feedback- it is much appreciated!
I don't recall seeing National cars in that state. I will check my books to see if I have any pics and forward them along.
