I finally finished the three miners' cabins for Aspen.



I plan to build a road that slopes upward toward the back of the stamp mill and have the houses at different elevations as you would expect in a mountain town.



Since I seem to have a surplus of outhouse kits, I'm painting one to match the depot.  From what I can tell the real Midland "privies" were larger, elaborate affairs with separate holes for men and women ( :trollface: ) but as this entire layout is selectively compressed, it'll do.

For your era and location I don't think you have "too many" privies.  There was probably at least one for every building, since I doubt that they had sewer systems yet.

Thanks!  It's a long way from done, though...  Eventually in that last scene behind the engine you'd see the Aspen Sampling Works (but as I'm burned out on structures right now I'm only planning to build the Miner's Exchange and the headframe for the Molly Gibson mine before turning the layout around and working the mountain).  You'd also see a lot more trees back there!
