Eh. I'm actually not a fan of that structure.

It's REALLY small. What would the interior look like? How would a bar with three stools stay afloat?

Then again, maybe those banditos need somewhere to get their cervesas.

Remember this is my fun "model railroady" layout.  Trying to be Furlow without the Furlow.   :D

...and yeah, it turned out smaller than I thought it was going to...   :scared:

The other structure kit I got from Wild West is bigger:

I like the scene though.  I found some leftover Bar Mills fencing and tossed that in along with a crossbuck.

Right now I'm painting a Micro Engineering outhouse to match the saloon, so there's that...

You've never heard of a "hole in the wall?"

Maybe it was a carryout?  Get off the train, grab a bottle, and get on the stage to wherever.  Or the other way around.

If that's the case, you might add a pile of bottles out back, waiting for someone to load them into a wagon to send back to the brewery.

Yeah, but usually they're in a stall.

The Last Chance Saloon now has the most modern conveniences for the comfort of its patrons...

Do I need to drill a waist-high hole in the sidewall for Ed now?

Will you be adding a Sheriff's office?  I'm sure some monetary transactions readily occurred...  I've always wanted to see an empty N Scale pine casket leaning against a the jail wall as a warning to any bad guys...

Hmm...  Not sure where the Pitkin County sheriff's office would have been in 1905, but Aspen was the only town of any size (still is).  Nearby Ashcroft had given up the ghost by then.  We'll see!

If you didn't have kids at home I'd say add a Lady of The Evening standing around nearby . . . .

Actually that's a sore point for this whole exercise.  I've been searching eBay for appropriate figures for turn-of-the-century and dammit, I can't find any.  I can get freaking King Ludwig the Second of Bavaria in N scale but I can't freaking get a normal Edwardian-era person.  Or a damn cowboy.

So it looks like I'll be teaching myself how to kitbash figures.

Thanks, Lee!

The outhouse has a lean I've since (hopefully) corrected.  Although...

Now the scene is complete!  Never go full Furlow!

The figure is a repurposed 1950s figure from my PRR layout. He used to have a bright red jacket, white pants, and a white fedora. I repainted him in more turn-of-the-century appropriate colors and even added suspenders ("braces" as they were called in 1905...and which you really can't see from any viewing angle ) and turned the fedora into a black bowler

The tacky glue at his feet should dry clear.

Reminds me of the book Forty Miles to the Outhouse, by Willie Makit, and illustrated by Betty Dont.
