Lombard Hobby has them in stock as well and they beat Kleins on the pricing, which I thought would be hard to do...  :o

Might be cheaper shipping since they are right next door to Kato USA?

just passing on some more options, no affiliation, yadda, yadda, yadda....  :D

Picked up 844 only and while the cost is higher than the recent Kato offerings, the performance is amazing. With the articulated tender and sprung front trucks its a tad of a bear to get it on the rails, but the low-end performance through gearing and core-less motor is amazing. Its like the GS-4 Dash 2, the big complaints with the GS-4 have been addressed (ie. speedcurve). It ran on my ME Code 40 Flex without issue, but my radii was to tight for the loco (its a 18" dia oval, aka the Gauntlet for testing DCC). I'll leave the counting of teeth to the likes of Max, and Victor. This is a definite winner out of the gate, a long range road test for the other items that plagued the GS-4 (loose axle fitting, traction tires thrown etc) is needed. Finding the headlight was a soft white LED was a nice surprise.

When I saw this post I went to the MBK website. At that time they had 50. When I decided a few hours later to order one the stock was down to 8. While filling the shopping cart I got the message that all of them were gone!!!
I hope they get new stock soon...

Lombard charges 12.95 for shipping. No thanks.

MBK out of stock on engines already is nuts. BLA not listing them as in stock yet, but they have already run out of pre reserved  DC units and excursion trains that come pre lit.

So much for getting one for Christmas.

You do know that the price with the $12 shipping comes out cheaper than the total than price for just the engine everywhere else? I have no affiliation with them, but they do show them in stock.

Yes, but still, $12.95 for shipping is $12.95. And there were a couple other items I wanted to add to an order, and those were not cheaper than elsewhere.

Ha, I really am hoping you're kidding.   I had a chance to look at the set at the OKC show yesterday.  It all looks very nice but I still cannot get past the "yellow" color they used, which I would call orange.

Nope. Not kidding at all. That price for UPS ground shipping is too high.

I am already on file at MBK, and when pricing the entire set, engine, tenders, and excursion, the difference is like $4 bucks cause MBK has the tenders cheaper.

Rather than put my info on another site that could get hacked, better to keep it with just one business. With luck, MBK will get more in stock. Once again Kato underestimates demand for UP product.
