Those CF-7's are strangely appealing. Amtrak had a bunch of them at the Ivy City S &  I shops for years. Some got repainted, some stayed in their ATSF blue and yellow.

Nice work on both units. Is the CF-7 a Randgust she'll?

Yes, it's from randgust.  I was afraid of doing one but it went together rather well.  My steps are a little crooked and bent but get some flat black on there and it will be hidden a little bit.  Will probably order another one soon to do #1504.

A good friend and I both heavily into AT&SF (well I was until I sold my Layout) have always admired those CF7's that the AT&SF built, both the round F7 and flat angular roofs. . They sure did a lot of them. Almost as nice as the GP30's
Rod.

That paint stand reminds me of a cobbled Rebel troop transport from Star Wars . . . .

Now I guess I'll have to dig my CF-7 out and get to work.

CF7 #2 ordered tonight.  This one will become YorkRail #1504, Maryland and Pennsylvania unit.

CF7s are so ugly, they're pretty.

And I thought I was the only one thinking that. Except for the pretty part. And I'm a Santa Fe guy. Sorry.
Nice modeling though!

As long as my CF7's end up being ugly, that means @randgust makes an excellent kit and I got lucky it turned out that way  :D

We (my old railfan clique) called the CF7's "paper sack" locomotives. Hide the hideous looks with a paper sack so you could "see" the F unit with your ears.
