Also pre paint the backdrop with some distant hills, that should tie everything together and blend the scene.

Working on Hagerstown yard.  Waiting on some glue and spackling compound to dry, so I applied more ground cover on outskirts of yard.  Also tried some greenery along the backdrop, where I will need to add a fence and pictures of the backs of houses

Here is a track level shot of an all GE lash up ( 3 8-40CW's ) readying to leave for Cumberland

And while the GE's wait for air to build, switching in the yard continues.

Wow, that little bit of green along the backdrop really livened up that scene! Looks good!

I like how @M.C. Fujiwara refers to the Caboose Industries' ground throws as "catapults."     If interested, you should see one of his threads for great information about slide switch ground throws.

The trees are all I have at this time.  I have to look at making my own or getting some Super trees etc.

As for the catapults, they will disappear once I get some funds to get 4 more Peco switches to replace them  :D

No, Peco turnouts.  Like this one, with center spring so no motor etc is needed

After operating on an HO layout Saturday night, and still being amazed by that layout (only my 4th time there), I spent much of the free time looking at the trees and general landscaping done.  So today, I continued working on camouflaging the entrance to staging from Hagerstown yard.

While sitting on the hillside, a local was entering the yard.  I noticed across the way, the forest already has a couple of residents.
