I used James Cameron for this  :|

Not a valid vimeo URL
Really it was the first time I ran a train since the track was built and I tested it.

Very impressive, the smooth running really adds to the effect, I really liked the look down past the box car in the siding, who sez size is everything?

Chris,

Your little layout is hawt.  From the street-level view it's incredible; from the bird's-eye view, though, something is missing . . .

Regularly running on the Sub these days -  a 108 car earthworm with distributed power - you see the lead locos in the foreground right and the DP back left:

Here's the middle:

I have 2% in and out of staging and have no problems.  The locos are FVM ES44DC.  Worst thing that's happened is the occasional uncouple mid train, and that not at all often.

Friggin' sweet, Jim.  Your layout is not only well-scenicked and a wonderful presentation, but it's also capable of Class 1 prototype length trains reliably?  Wow, not a lot of layouts can do that.  Kudos!

Since this is Thanksgiving week, I decided to start assembling my last 25 Intermountain 40' reefer kits. If I finish a dozen, I'll consider the year a success, and I'll have something to give thanks for. :D

Hmm... you could give
thanks for having me...

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Wow, the Kato FEF does look great! Can't wait for the TTG (two tone gray) version.
Some great modeling...
Bill, another beauty!
Chris, that's a sweet little layout!
Jim, what a beautiful monster you've built! I also love how clean and finished the overall impression is. Amazing!
While waiting for project supplies, I'm playing with panel designs and layout edge aesthetics this weekend.

Nothing gets you motivated to work on your layout then getting razed by your significant other.  My son came home with another Lego set.  I said " just what you need, more Legos. " my wife follows that with " just like you need anymore trains just to sit in a box ? " So naturally I'm in the basement reconfiguring my benchwork.

Thanks Brian. The first row of solarium windows were individual panes that I cut to fit the window openings. It took some time and patience but the results are worth the effort. The remainder of the solarium windows were done with Micro-Glaze from Micro-Mark. (Kristal-Klear should also work.) The liquid window material works best on small windows, of course for a real outstanding model you could go crazy and cut individual panes for the whole solarium!
