Hey, I just had an opinion about a photo that was posted.  Since when is that verboten?     I stand by the opinion.  To me, IMO the tooling looks soft.

My apologies.  I wasn't trying to call you out for that at all.   I simply intended to use it as an example of the "expectations".

Coincidentally, I broke the handrails on an Atlas B23-7 last year.  I ended up just replacing the entire shell when I found a replacement B30-7 shell online that was reasonably priced.  Allowed me to upgrade the mechanism to a B30-7 in SBD paint as opposed to the SCL (Family Lines) paint that was on the B23-7.  Of course, I had to buy trucks and a fuel tank from Atlas , but it was still far cheaper than buying a whole new locomotive.

Lets hope it isn't a production issue. I have 18 B23-7s.

I really like my CN SD40-2W. It looks good and runs well. The wheels are slabs, but that's what happens when you rely on someone else's mechanics (Atlas).

Where on earth are the pre-production photos?

No, completely my own incompetence.

Where on earth are the pre-production photos?

Why shoot those instead of pretty new release posters?

No doubt.  Who has time to take pictures with such a full announcement schedule.

Honestly, unless they were (well) decorated samples, I don't think showing any pre-production models would have a positive net gain.
