This is the type of car all you opertors need.  That high and wide load that messes with the operators and needs special attention to get it moved.  Hope someone comes up with some decent loads for these.

You may have a change of heart when you see the Conrail version.

I just may. I've been wooed by the charms of ESM products many a time. It's why I have two gons, even though they were also incredibly rare.

I can't wait get one in LV and a PC! This is a car I never thought I would see made!

That said, is this a car I preorder from my dealer or order direct from ESM?

You will be able to pre-order through your favorite hobby dealer once the model is announced, which won't be until the production run is on the water.  Hopefully before the end of winter.

Face it Ed if someone painted a dog turd blue and put a can opener on the side you would buy it.

odd that Pennsy didn't have any, they usually liked anything
   cast in Steel by GSC.
must have still had plenty of their older well cars still in service.
one class must have had 5 tons of Rivits holding them together.

PRR had a similar car class that was built a few years later.

 :?
   Brian,
how similar were the PRR cars ?
   different well length ?
   different overall length ?
   different capacity ?
did PRR order a "Special" version so they could pay more ?
PRR did have the largest fleet of Special/Heavy Duty Flats
   during Their prime.

Bryan,

Is the PRR version close enough that you would consider doing this like you did the X-58's in Burlington as an XML-14 stand-in?

I'll buy one since there probably won't be another run of F25's.

a PRR stand-in is on the list of schemes to do, after all the prototypical schemes have been released.

The GSC car is a match for LV 9955 and NYC classes 877F (NYC 497988-497990) and 900F (NYC 498998).  LV 9955 became CR 768000, class FL42A.  See Fallen Flags for a photo of the car.  900F NYC 498998 became PC 768024.  It stayed in PC paint for its entire service life on PC and CR.  See PC Color Guide for photo.  NYC 497988-497990 became PC 768020-768022.  PC 768020 had its PC painted out and replaced with a CR, but it retained its other PC applied markings.  PC 768022 was repainted in a full CR image.  See PC Color Guide for a partial photo along side PC 768024.  I have never seen PC 768021, however my 10/84 ORER has it still in PC paint.  The PRR owned GSC well cars classed F49.  PRR 435455-435464 built 02-65 to 05-65.  They are close to ESM's offering, but uniquely PRR.  See PRRTHS flatcar book for photos.  Thanks.

I don't think so. Not NS either. The cars were 41 years old at the time of the acquisition and CR used them sparingly due to their specialized service.

As far a load is concerned< I intend to buy a brass ship's propeller from the Ship modeling community; make my own bracing from strip wood.

Looks pretty, but a little too esoteric to get my blood going. Sorry Bryan!

Shut up and buy one, Cherub.
