I've got the hard part of hand-building a turnout completed.  I spent hours on this, but it seems to work.  I tested it with some scrap flextrack, a 9V battery, and a DCC locomotive.  Tomorrow, hopefully, I can get some wood ties under it, add a feeder for the frog while it's still accessible, and get it installed.  This was not easy for me, but it will be worth it, considering the flexibility it will add to Hamlet Yard by double-ending the first of two arrival/departure tracks:

I made a system map.   This is for the PGE / BCR modellers display board at the Trains show in Vancouver next weekend.

This will hopefully prevent me spending the whole weekend explaining to visitors where Fort Nelson is.    They don't call it 'Fort Nowhere' for nothing.

Look, Ma, no jigs!  Here's the updated status of my #8 curved turnout.  Let's just say that I'm no Chris333.  I have hours and hours in this thing so far.  I hope to get it installed and begin testing this afternoon.  More information over on the Seaboard Central 2.0 thread in the Layout Engineering Forum.

Nice maps rock- that one is excellent.  Just need an inset to show where BC is for the geographically challenged (who are more numerous than anyone would expect  )

What did you use for the base map?  I'm thinking of some shameless emulation.

If you'll excuse my old camera and lack of photography knowledge and skills.  I finally got around to painting up a couple of Monongahela GP38's.  In studying photos from the web, they had several different looks over the years. I also found a copy of the book, "The Monongahela Railway - It's History and Operation 1903-1993" by David E.Gratz and Terry E.Arbogast to try to get an idea of how to paint them.  This is the final paint that they wore I believe probably from around '88 until they left the MGA sometime in '91.

Got some weathering done on a couple of big steamers. The Challenger got the heaviest, the Big Boy received a new road number and managed to stay a little cleaner.

All I did this weekend was take the weights out of two Atlas wood-side reefers and convert them to MicroTrains trucks/couplers.
