Chuck: "The rolling stock would be mostly grain cars, a couple of Geeps and a hack."

For "grain cars" are you thinking modern covered hoppers or 40 ft boxcars?  The BN used boxcars into the late 70s, and you could fit more of them in the same space than modern hoppers.  Also, they come in more schemes, meaning more variety.

Nothing modeling done....as usual.  Did attend the WISE Division's Optoberfest and ran on two really great layouts.  It was a ton of fun, especially seeing how individuals come op with Ops systems for their railroads.

Construction has finally begin in the train room. It's cleaned out, swept, and half of the sub-floor is in.

That is great news Craig.  Any ideas for a design yet?

Congratulations, Craig.  Hope your layout building activity progresses at a rate considerably faster than my glacial pace!!

Timonium was pretty fun. Joined the BANTRAK folks. Personal layout  plans are on hold for a while due to space limitations...however, MG will live again with a full 4 track broadway.

I also ran my FD2 flat car around on it's shakedown. It did pretty well. The shapeways trucks held up, mostly. I might need to add a little bit of weight to one of the trucks, but it ran better than expected. I'm looking forward to painting it now.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

A bunch of them have FVMs, but I was only part way through the mass conversion when the FVM shortage occurred.

Thanks guys.

It will be three decks joined by a helix. It will be based on the E&N on Vancouver Island but running BC Rail equipment. For now I just want to build a loop of track to run in my fleet.

Baby steps!

I've been playing around with the Raspberry Pi 35 dollar microcomputer which I'm planning to integrate into some Free-moN modules.

I finally worked out some kinks in the script and here's the first prototype of a push button turnout controller and indicator.

I just sunk the last money needed to convert all of my cars over to metal
It helped a guy at a trai show had little dime bags with 4 wheels in it and gave me a price of $60 for 100 bags
A good steal

Wow, and Wow.

Mike's "White City' etchings of ladders, standoffs and platforms (incredible!)
Tomar 3-color signal heads (special order)
BLMA signal mounts
Sunrise bases and caps

Great job gents....excellent work.   Would love to be able to emulate that some day.   8)
