I dunno John, $109 for a six pack is pretty good. The cars look pretty good except for the foobs. I'm really looking forward to the covered hoppers they will be releasing for this spring.

MTL SW1500, IM SD40-2, BLI and FVM PRR covered hoppers.... This winter will be expensive!

These hit the road sometime in 1958 between April and September 1957*, which is a bit late for my target time period ('53-'56) but I don't want BLI thinking PRR stuff won't sell and they should be pretty nice looking cars so...

The per each price isn't bad, it's just having to buy them in groups of 6.  Although for the N&W and PRR, if you need 1 coal hopper you need 30 usually.  lol

According to Teichmoeller's book: The H2a's starting arriving on the property in April 1957 and all were received by the PRR by the end of September 1957.  2000 cars total.  This works out perfectly for my August 1957 based PRR time period.  I think $18.33 (price per car at MBK) for a car that sits at the correct ride height, has metal wheels and body mounted couplers is a steal.  I ordered all 18 Pennsy cars.  Thank you Broadway Limited for finally seeing this project to its completion.  Thanks.

   from 68 to the early 70s EL leased a Surge Fleet of H2s to cover
  the Cleveland Ore Trains.
  adding to their 77 Ton 3 bay fleet and getting Booted out of Dereco
  ended the leasing by EL.
  am sure that Jack Fishwick made sure that N&W made a very good
  profit from leasing the cars to EL.

Just received mine and my only complaint is the way the coal loads are made.  You can press one side or the other and they flop out.  In other words, they are not that secure in the car.

My six-pack of N&W 24-inch-herald hoppers arrived today.  The model is outstanding.  Excellent tooling relief, excellent satin finish and crisp printing (unlike the sample shells that had been displayed at shows over the past few months), excellent detail on the trucks, perfect ride height.  The model rolls freely and forever, as if roller bearings are present.  The wheel treads are a little wide for my tastes, so I swapped in FVM .540" axle wheelsets.  The car doesn't roll as freely as with the stock wheels, but it still rolls well.













Here are comparison photos of the model with various other models that ride at the correct height over the rail.















For those who want a fleet of 6, 12 or 18 same-road cars, it's definitely a must-buy.  For those who want only one or two, either buy the six-pack and unload the unwanted cars, or wait for someone to do the same and pick one up on the secondary market.

BLI's first N scale freight car is a winner.

Got my six of N&W 24" lettering today and they are top notch no complaints these are excellent quality models, will be changing the wheels for thinner tread but thats no big deal. Hope to see more from BLI soon!
