Bachmann Bluetooth DCC

Anyone see the Bachmann Bluetooth DCC system they rolled out at the iHobby Expo? Being electronically illiterate,  it looks pretty simple to me but I didn't see all the features that JMRI and other systems provide but it's early days...hopefully it'll trickle down to other scales besides HO and it'll cover Android by launch time...

I think Bachmann shares tech with ESU... some of their controllers share casings. As far as I know, JMRI is still incompatible with ESU systems.

It's an interesting idea. It's also only so useful at the moment, given that it's propeietary. I'm also not convinced about using a smartphone as your only throttle choice. I'm definitely in the camp of "tried it prefers mechanical dial". Of course, there's nothing to stop someone from building a hardware Bluetooth controller, but so far there's not even mention of such a thing. It will be interesting to watch it and see if it takes off.
