I liked these cars but the paint was always lacking. IM has always been good at paint.

This, If IM got the old E&C/LBF/Hubert tooling, IM paint is way better, sure the color is sometime a little off but the paint looks good. It always bother me that the old cars look so shinny.

I've said it before, I would not be so harsh to judge LBF and Fred Becker - the guy brought a lot of models to the hobby
and may have been a bad business person.  He did try to make products in the US which is how he ended up in debt
to the state or county economic development people.  I think most major US companies also have taken bigger handouts
and I don't see them vilified the way this poor guy has been.

I think there are a lot of armchair quarterbacks that are quick to point out fault in any way.  It is one of the endearing qualities of forums.

I'm not a business person and the economics of making models is clearly marginal.  We've had some insightful posts by some in the business and it really puts this in perspective.  It makes me appreciate the efforts of small companies, even if things did not work out well in the end.

If someone like IM can resurrect a nice model, they have my support.   If they can get more model varieties on the shelf, even better!

Hold on there Gary... where.. when??? The PWRS is poorly organized and I can't seem to find anything about it.

I have only heard about it here in the Roanoke thread.  I have not seen any announcement on the PWRS web site, so maybe it is vapourware.  But NARC does have the chops to deliver, so I'll remain optimistic until told otherwise.  In the meantime, I'm very happy with the developments at IM.

Not to hijack thread, but mention of someone doing 53' Trailers, it's not for everyone but I highly suggest DigCom Designs, print on cardstock, you pay for the PDF and can print as many trailers as you wish. 

Interesting.  I didn't see much in the way of trailers, but lots of 53' containers.  It may come to that.

Hope you are right Gary. I would love to give them a pre-order, if and when they announce it. I also hope they come as bare tables (without containers)

Yeah, the lack of press or direct news on this is frustrating....but it was also confirmed in NSR from their convention wrap-up.

Interesting.  I didn't see much in the way of trailers, but lots of 53' containers.  It may come to that.

They have 5 or 6 drop frame 53' trailers, like the moving companies use, 5 53' trailers, some with reefer units, and also 5 28' trailer designs.  Pictures of all that are available are on their facebook page
