Chris Dittmar wanted me to do a low nose conversion front end for the LL RS18...that's a simple project I'm going to do late this year or early next. It doesn't require any complicated things like trucks or etched parts.

Please tell me this will be the CP low nose

Though I'd prefer an HR-616, the C40-8M is also of interest. Can see myself getting a pair at some point.

I concur that if the M420 is any indication, this kit will be well worth the money. The M420 was well thought out and an easy build... so much so that even I could get one (almost) complete - only thing remaining are the handrails, of which I've completed the bends on one and then ran for the hills.

The instructions are pretty clear and the major effort is with the trucks.  I don't see anything too difficult. 

BTW, saving the RTF file as a PDF reduced it from 135Mb to 1.5 Mb

Good to know you are interested Craig. I was counting on you ordering at least a few. It is a busy time at work for me and I know Jeff needs a little break. I will start an expression of interest list sometime in November. Lock 4244 I am not sure of the configuration of the CP versions but I will discuss it with Jeff.
 
In the meantime I have some Dash-8s to build.

Ouch, $100 for a undecorated body shell. I know these are not off the shelf models, but that seems a little pricey.

More than a body shell - includes Dofasco truck conversion kit and a host of etched metal detail parts as per previous kits.  It is also a niche market kit for a prototype which no mainstream manufacturer is ever likely to produce. 

This is one of the last missing BC Rail locomotives to be covered.  Also an important addition for CN and QNS&L modellers.  For PGE-BCR modellers, the low nose RS-18 is now the biggest priority.

The BC Rail, well actually the PGE/British Columbia Railway modeller, needs some MLW RS-3 sides too. Oh oh, and a Royal Hudson, ahhhh but I digress.

No winky faces Tim. And stop speaking in code. Do you mean those as in sides, being the plural of side, or those as in the RS3 and the Royal Hudson. Sides I can figure out but if I need to start feeding my kids KD and Spam so I can save for 2860 then I need to know.  Feel free to tell only me, and not anyone else here.  As you know I have been not really building 2860 for about 10 years and this would be very good news.

...And I know from Tim's quote that he meant the RS3 sides, but I had to take the opportunity to shamelessly plug 2860...    again....  which I know passed through Tim's locale in his time period.  Several times in fact.  Even more times then that Museum Train he's modeling. 

And, as if you don't know Scott, 2860 was on your bridge a few times as well.
