Photo backdrop installation started on the lower deck with the Fort Nelson River scene.    Nothing like photos shot off the deck of the actual bridge to make the perfect backdrop.

The backdrop looks fantastic, especially from water level.

Agreed, though the bridge piers don't seem quite right to me.

The bridge piers are a work in progress....    I grabbed whatever I could find that was the right height

Actually got some modeling done this week.

Lehigh Valley 50' auto boxcar (MTL) – replaced the roofwalk with FVM laser-cut wood roofwalk and wire roof grabs; swapped in Trainworx ASF A-2 trucks; and body-mounted the couplers.  Stained the roofwalk before masking and painting the roof.  Weathered with chalks.

New Haven class NE-2 caboose (Precision Scale/WBM) – kept the factory paint job but removed the existing decal lettering, which was inaccurate.  Redecorated with Microscale decals and clear-coated the model.  Ditched the poor-rolling trucks and added MTL trucks temporarily with FVM wheels.  Added window glass, then weathered with chalks.  Going to switch to Atlas leaf-spring trucks this weekend if they look good on the model.

I finally built jimmo's "Lucky's Bar". This is the first resin model I've done, and it was a bit of a learning experience.
Great little building of which I will be purchasing a few more of.

Nice car Bryan.  Apart from the silly sill steps it's one of MTL's best tooled from what I've seen.  It's also one of the cars that that cements the fact that N scalers like shiny things over prototypical, otherwise they should be clamoring MTL to make more of that body style.  What do transition modelers think transported automobiles before autoracks?  :P

The only thing -  I'm 97.5% that it should have a metal running board.

No modeling for me except cutting up some Atlas Steel Rebuilt ends to see if I can make them 12" taller.  Otherwise, trying to get mentally prepared to sell off 100+ MTL cars.  I knew this day would come, just so many years collecting them makes it harder than it should be.  I'm never going to run them, so it might be time.  Hopefully use the money to help get a Mill or better yet a 3D printer.

Almost finished.

It has only taken me a year to get to this point.

Richie and Aikorob:  I always get a kick out of looking at the Soviet/Russian passenger trains, as they're obviously copied from Milwaukee Road plans.  The only two roads I know of that used that style of horizontal ribbed cars were the MILW and the Soviets.
