Now I have a problem.  I pre ordered these so long ago from (I don't honestly remember) and when it looked like nothing but vaporware forgot all about it.  I reordered a couple more then it looked like it was finaly going to happen (I think).  I'm either going to get zero or more than I want and it's going to wipe out my train budget for the next year.

I believe BLI stated that all reservations prior to the/this current announcement were cancelled, and you/one would need to order again.
Cheers,
Scott

It's true, Bob! You'll need to re-preorder.

And Ed, I never lost faith that DNF would come out.  I even bought the "Balls of Steel" edition.

I can't believe this is really happening.  The sample pics look good.  I hope it runs as good as it looks.  I hope this is a success so they do more PRR steam.  K4, K4, K4

I have 2 M1's on reserve with BLW, 1 each of the M1a and M1b.  I also have a 6 pack of the H2 hoppers in N&W and PRR and a set of each PRR H32 scheme on reserve with BLW.   It's going to be an expensive end of 2014 and start to 2015.

So...  Based on this sample, I'm going to up my preorder from one to two.

Then I'm only 298 short of Penny's whole M1 roster (if you count the 201 M1 class along with the 100 M1a/b class and my kitbashed M1).

That's the great thing about American Flyer when they did the K5; all you needed to do was get two, and you were actually able to field an entire PRR roster of a given class....:)

Maybe BLI will take Pennsy Power to heart and think that it'd be better to make a K29 than a K4.

FWIW, I think the M1 was chosen a decade ago because the coast-to-coast 210F75 tender would fit a sound decoder and speaker system with very little trouble.  Fast forward to 2014, and much smaller sound systems are now viable.

I would expect, then, that BLI would follow their HO line rather than develop a new locomotive for N, since the research is already done.  I'm guessing--again, assuming the M1 isn't a flop--that the K4 would be the next most likely just based on potential sales.

If--OTOH--space is still an issue for the sound decoders, they could do the Centipede and the I1sa with coast-to-coast tender.

As much as I want a modern K4, I'd be nearly as thrilled with a I1sa.  If the M1 lives up to expectations, I'd order mutiples of either a K4 or I1sa.  Centipedes have been announced by BLI and are due next year.  I have not placed a reservation for these.

You're right!  I completely forgot!  Again, it's probably easier for the electronics that way.

I've never understood the lack of N-Scale love for an H8-H9-H10, to me they are some beautiful, brutal beasts.
BLI just did an H10 and I'm hoping the next N-Scale loco is an H10.... :D

I would have minimal interest in a T1, or a J, or even the big versions of the M1, but... I'd love an H10!

They were the GP38s of the Pennsy steam fleet.

BLI has a whole stable of PRR steam they've done in HO - K4s, I1sa, H10s, J1/J1a, T1 and the S2 but, yeah, if any I'd guess the K4s would be next.  It would sure shut up a lot of PRR fans.   But a good I1sa would be fantastic.  Unfortunately, the H10s was mostly a Lines West engine, at least initially.  They did migrate east as steam faded.  The H8 and H9 were more common in the East as far as i can tell.
