Are Applause/Smites linked to a particular post?  i.e. can you see where/why you've been approved/dinged?  It's an interesting feature.  The "Thanks" option at NScale.Net will list out the last 25 Thanks you've received.  The "Advanced Reputation System" also looks interesting and might work here if the Karma one doesn't do what you're hoping.
