Scratch built Sugar Beet Refinery

I'm new to the site, and haven't posted much of my own layout. I'm modeling the Cache Valley Branchline which was in Cache Valley, Utah, starting at Cache Junction and ending in Preston, ID (of Napoleon Dynamite fame). I grew up going to my grandparents house in Soda Springs by driving through Preston, and my favorite part was seeing this old abandoned factory out in the middle of nowhere:







I took these pictures 2.5 years ago, but it pretty much looked the exact same in the early 70s. Turns out Cache Valley used to grow a lot of sugar beets, and they all ended up here.

So I just had to have it on my layout, and here is the result:












I love factories, and I plan on having a lot of them on the layout ;)

Yes, impressive.

You weren't at the UPHS convention in Ogden last week, were you? Cache Valley operations were mentioned numerous times.

What's it made of?  How did you make the window openings?  How is it painted, weathered?  Where did the stack come from?
You can't just electronically waltz in here, show Railwire some good work, and not expect a million questions.

What?! I didn't even know! I've already done loads of research and I grew up in the valley, but that would have been amazing! Some of the structures, like this one, I was unable to find any historical photos of. Are there notes from the convention?

I designed the windows with CAD. They are double layer lazerboard. I had someone cut them for me. But now I have my own laser :)
