No, his link is just badly formed. Should be like this ]http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/GEXR-177-South-edit-1280x936.jpg]

EDIT: Forget about the above. I misunderstood.

I can't see it either.  What's the name of the railroad in question, perhaps Mr. Google could be of assistance...

Ok, new mission.

Convince the GEXR to slap "Laurel Valley" on the side of one of their engines...

It adds absolutely nothing to the discussion but since you mentioned Mr. Google:

I suppose pulling an old section of the layout out of mothballs to dress up for a photo shoot counts as progress, right?

This bit used to bridge the gap across the window air conditioner on the Thomas Sub, carrying the line to the yard at Elkins.

Now it runs across the wall above my desk, where it will serve as the staging siding for inbound and outbound traffic to the little jelly bean that is the CH&FP.  I'm going to add about 8" to the front so I can install the Owings Mills station I built for Medford Trains, and of course, I'll add a few trees every night, like you do.

This morning I went out in search of tree armatures of the "free stuff in the yard" variety, and came up with a bucket full of Butterfly Bush blooms (say that 3 times fast!)  They're basically cone shaped, and a bit bulky for lacy tree branches, but I've used them before for filler, and once covered in ground foam are pretty effective, especially in large groups.

Here's some worked in with a few red sedum armatures in the old Wills Creek scene.  I also have some wire armature trees I'm working on, and a few of the nicer ones that survived the abandonment, so I should be able to fluff up 6' of shelf layout pretty effectively.

Hopefully it will be presentable in time for the Mike McGrattan Memorial Special to arrive.

But I haven't done anything yet!

Actually that's not true.  Yesterday I clipped a bucket full of blooms from the Butterfly Bush, and last night we went into production.  Using only materials I had on hand, we produced about 144 square inches of forest...

Flip phone with Phaser flash blew it up a bit, but there it is.  I'm going with some muted fall colors since that's what I had laying around.  As I make progress on the landscape, I'll try to use better lighting and the real camera...
