Given that all the schemes previously released have been prototypical, it's hard to fuss about this one.  Particularly when they do put out multiple newly-tooled models annually.  New tooling still due this year — PS-3 coal hopper, Alco S-2.

Yeah, I'm gonna give Atlas a break on that, since they DO the proto schemes first before rolling out some "stand-ins".   (take a bow, Athearn and MTL)

Feeling the Seaboard System love (SD35s and hoppers) from Atlas, including Family Lines (SCL) cabooses.  But, we sure could use some GP40-2s and GP38-2s.  Thanks!

I do have a question though about the B&M GP7's coming out.
All three numbers you list had the train lighting box on the front of the long hood. Is there going to be a detail part added to these? They only had three GP7's without this 1557, 1559 and 1560. Unfortunately you have already released these earlier.

How correct is the NS Pier 6 car? I know a buddy that got two of the from NSE.

Wonder what that will do to the worth of the NSE members cars.

Chris

It's a stand in.  Main problems are the slope sheet, brake wheel placement, ladders, and I think the car is actually a bit larger.  Personally, the only things that really bother me are the slope sheet and brake wheel.  Of course some details will be noticeable on this car since it has such a bright paint scheme, but on the standard black cars they may not be.  I'm thinking about getting a Atlas and MT car and using Shellscale's new decals just as a test on standard cars to see how plausible they are.

Excellent, I'll need at least a trio of SD35's (one high hood, two low hood) for my freelance coal hauler layout in the future

Yes, excellent! Finally, an Oregon and Northwestern locomotive! Well...actually in the form of a Toledo, Peoria & Western GP7. TPW 1608 (WYCO) worked the remnants of the ONW from 1991-1995 after it was shut down. Will buy one and change the number.  8)

Doesn't the white cab roof make this a post 2002 yn3?

Also, did CR own any Evans gons? I just assumed they were prototypical.

I'm guessing the CR number series corresponds to the former EL series.  The EL car is a foob but it's close.  Close enough for me to pick one up when it is released.

I wish Atlas would shrink some of those Horribly Oversized ALCo C-424/C-425's down to N scale now that we know Walthers won't ever do them again.  Or even a C-430.  8)

Did anyone notice the picture of the Santa Fe GP on page 50?  The other colors are reasonable for artwork, but black, green, and blue with pink trucks on the ATSF unit??
