New Stuff at Train Show!!!

Is hard to find in this list - in N-scale at least.  The one new thing I saw is straight GP60's from FVM:

http://mrr.trains.com/news-reviews/new-products/2014/07/2014-national-train-show-report?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MRRList_TrainShow_140718_Final&utm_content=

Lots of stuff in N-scale, but mostly re-hash of stuff we know about.  Might be some new roadnames or #'s from Atlas buried in here.

Checking the MRR reports, I find these notable.

Bachmann is releasing a 2-8-4 Berkshire with sound, I thought that was interesting. Bachmann is also releasing a flat car Piggy Packer, again interesting. And an assortment of resin buildings. Looks like they are hitting N Scale pretty hard. Go Bachmann!

Preprods of the Hornby U25C were shown.

This was interesting...

Electro-Motive Division SD45 diesel locomotive. HO scale model shown. Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe; Denver & Rio Grande Western; Erie Lackawanna; Northern Pacific; and Pennsylvania RR. One road number per scheme. SoundTraxx Sound Value diesel sound package with prime mover, three air horns, and bell. $249. Ready-to-run. Bachmann,  215-533-1600 , www.bachmanntrains.com

Is this a redesigned Bachmann N-scale SD45?

Of all this, I find Bachmann's the most 'exciting'. Atlas and Athearn are just more paint schemes...  The Bachmann SD45 lends hope that this is an improved model over its old version.  Of course, there's no indication it is.  The 35' trailer is promising.  I hope it is sold without the chunky flat car.  I hope the light 2-8-2 Bachmann is releasing in HO will come in N (along with a heavy and light 4-6-2).
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

I liked seeing pics of the decorated Arnold U25C pilot models.

Also interesting is Bachmann releasing a 52' TOFC.  The flat is the correct length although I'm not thrilled with the sightlines of it, but the trailer looks very good and I'll be curious to see how accurate the it is to the prototype.  Outrageous MSRP though.

They uploaded their normal flyer via PDF.

Looks like I will be buying a lot of the Piggy Packers in WM...no complaints!

Not sure what to think about the FVM Milwaukee Road transfer caboose. This was first announced by them in brass BEFORE they got into the metal wheel business. Announced a change to plastic for N and HO scale in November 2012. Now in July 2014 they show photos of the HO version, but nothing in N.  :?

Anybody have any intel about this? I know I could ask Matt directly, but figured he is swamped. I have to say that it sure does look great in HO.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

At that price it should sing your favorite songs too.

"2-8-4 BERKSHIRE STEAM LOCOMOTIVE & TENDER"

"details and tender style per prototype"

"(HO models shown for illustrative purposes.)"

Dare we hope that they will offer a correct C&O boiler???

I honestly can't help wondering if this might just be a rehash of the former Life-Like/Walthers model.  It wouldn't be the first time Bachmann has taken advantage of another company's discontinued items.

Hopefully not.  Bachmann did C&O specific details on it's Heavy Mountain.  There were also the two versions of the 2-6-6-2, the USRA and the C&O specific H-4.  I guess it depends on how much modification they have to make.  How/what are the differences between the C&O and the NKP/PM?  Just the steam and sand domes?  Or something more?  Looking at specs at http://www.steamlocomotive.com/berkshire/ I see minor differences in firebox area, etc.

Okay my wallet is going to have to brace for impact.  NS SD70ACe's and now GP60's from FVM along with the GEVO's I've yet to get, this will not be fun for Mr. Wallet.  I hope Bman will introduce a Virginian version of the Berk.  Virginian's were copies or near copies of C&O's so they may actually good for Virginian but I'll have to check.

Oh, and anyone know the ETA for the SD70ACe's?

Why in the h3!! does Atlas keep releasing the ugly "Pepsi can" scheme 8-32BHWs!!???!!!??!!  They just release three numbers of them last year.  That's the third release of that scheme since they started them.  Only one in Ph  IV or V.  And yes, I need a couple PH V and think the Pepsi can scheme is ugly as sin.
