In the July issue of MT Micro News (the paper copy) there is an ad that shows a logo for the 2015 N Scale Convention in Sacramento!! This is the first I have heard about this unless I missed something...outstanding!

It's been a poorly kept secret for over a year.  Historically the location for the next convention is  officially announced on the banquet on Saturday night of the current convention, but I heard Sacramento mentioned for 2015 at last year's banquet in Milwaukee.  Membership has been asking that NSE announce conventions more than a year in advanced (like the NMRA does), so they can better plan their vacations.  The NSE Board said at Roanoke that they will consider announcing future convention locations as soon as the contract is signed with the hotel.

2015 Convention is scheduled for June 24th through 28th at the Double Tree Hotel Sacramento.

Pretty neat logo... "Black Widow"! Looking forward to this one. FWIW, I don't care how much "Armour Yellow" is there, to me it's still "SP country"  :D

Well this is exciting! Right in my back yard. The first N Scale convention I attended was in Sacramento in 1994 (I believe). What other N scalers are on TRW from this area?

Damn, going to miss it by about two weeks.  I don't move to Reno until mid July... :(

Not quite my back yard, but just a short hop up the Capital Corridor from the Bay Area. Count me in!

A one hour flight from Ontario (California that is). I'm planning on it!

Seriously thinking about this instead of our annual Amtrak excursion to Winterail (Hi, Ryan!). Certainly more convenient - wouldn't even have to rent a car provided the convention hotel doesn't book-up too quickly. Probably should make reservations now and then cancel if we decide not to go.

On second thought, had better plan on renting a car. Robyn likes her trains, too, but tends to grow weary of MRR'ers in short order. :D  4-5 days of a steady diet of both is a bit much to ask.

I'm hoping to be there. It's just a short drive up from the Bay Area. Hopefully there will be a Free-moN layout.

Yes, exciting! I did attend the NMRA Convention in Sacramento in 2011 and had a great time. National conventions are few in this area so it is a treat. I am an hour away and will attend. Duh.

Ryan - still working on that fishing trip to Dunsmuir!

2011 was a great time and the first time I saw a FreeMo-N  layout. I was hooked. Still need to ramp up my module building activities but nothing like a pair of BIG train shows to light the fire. I'd like to have a FreeMo-N layout at this show in Sacramento but it might be too much. We'll see how things develop.

<Putting on NSE Board member hat>

We are looking for all kinds of layouts to have on display during the convention - NTRAK, oNeTRAK, FreeMo-O, TTRAK - if you can contribute modules or a whole layout, please get in touch with Dick Ollendorf through the N Scale Enthusiast web site.  Also, if you are in the Sacramento area and have a home layout of any scale and would be willing to open it up for a bus tour of convention attendees, let Dick know.

I love both the NMRA and N scale conventions, and look for opportunity to get there.   With some in laws near SAC and my brother in SF, Carnac predicts a visit to see them right around N scale convention time........
