If it helps for you modern modelers, I spotted an FEC gon in Newark, Delaware within the last year or two.  Interestingly, the road number projects past the "FEC" to the left between the ribs on the prototype but it's to the right in Trainworx's drawing.  I wonder if each side is different or if the FEC was inconsistent in lettering/numbering the cars:

Heck, I'm glad they finally did a run that isn't gonna bankrupt my train budget for several months!   I have a bunch of these and plans for more.  I expect that the next run will be more corrugated's which likely means the MoPac logo panel version I've been asking for, which is gonna hurt.

I can pretty well walk away from this one, although I'll likely eventually pick up a GRR for sure and maybe some of the others. <shrug>  :D 8) :facepalm:

So excited about this! If you model central Texas from the 70's to the present day, GRR gons in unit rains are still a common sight. GRR's owner is one of the primary aggregate suppliers for the Houston area. As far back as the early 80's they were shipping 7 trains a week from the Austin area on the MKT and were probably doing a similar number on the MP/UP. If the IM SD40-2's are any good this is a huge boon for Texas n scalers.

I would also be in for a MILW, except that, as far as I can find, they were never seen without the covers in the mid 70s.  I have no need for a covered gon on my layout, so will pass.  The ITC car also fits my era, and all of the pictures of them I've found, although later than the 70s, show them without covers, so I'll plan on ordering one.

Yup, I think going to go bankrupt. I need 20 of the GRR. I have already of 3 GRR geeps in progress, these gons were the next step.
