Nothing for me.  But I'm limited in what MTL bodystyles would appeal to me right off the bat due to prototype fidelity issues, even before determining whether or not the deco scheme is appropriate/accurate.  So seeing an MTL release that appeals to me is the exception rather than the rules these days.

Does anybody know if the green CP box car with the Pacman logo (#020 00 936) is correct? (The combination of running board and ACI tag is unusual, but possible.)

Cheers,

Javier

Correct in what way?  Is the scheme accurate?  For the most part.  But the prototype was built by a different manufacturer.

Not really that unusual.  In fact, if the car was built in 1961 with that paint scheme like it's pretty likely to have time period where it had an ACI panel and still had it's running board.

AFAIK the pacman logo was introduced on July 17th, 1968 . I thought that when they did paint this boxcar (obviously after that date), the running board would have been removed.

Normally that would be a likely situation.  In this case however, MTL did it right (at least for 1970).

For every car that I have provided information for, MT usually requires a photo proving the car existed as described and usually asks for as much other info as can be provided...dates, colors, etc. so that this car is (mostly) correct comes as no surprise.

Except it appears that the Pac-Man herald on the model is on the left end on both sides of the car, instead of the B-end on both sides.  In the prototype photo, it's on the B-end.  In the model photo, it's on the A-end.

Love that scheme and need some for the newsprint dock. Would the new Atlas PS car work for this series?

Best wishes, Dave

Is there a pic of the other side of the proto car or are you applying some hard and fast rule?

Here's a car with pics from both sides.

Mark on 'A' end.

Depends how close you're going for.  The roof looks likes like a Pullman roof and the National Steel ends are similar to the PS one's but the sides are riveted.  One thing to look at would be maybe the IM 1937 Modified box car to get the sides and the Athearn 50' PS car for the door, but I'd have to look closer to be sure.

Not sure what I was thinking wrt the NSC rivet sides vs. the PS-1 welded ones. Don't mind me....nothing to see here.....move along.

Just curious, is the CP box car the first MTL car with an ACI plate or have I missed any previous ones?
