Cool.. They fixed the font for the UP SW1500.. and added what looks like a builders plate and some other data.

I wonder if they picked up the detail that the long nose end of the cab is grey above the red line.

Hopefully Conrail is next...

Not much for me this month.. but that NYC Observation is Tempting....

The ACL-REA express reefer is oddly "plain jane attractive" Does anyone know how accurate it might be? Not that it matters specifically to me, I like the car and am musing about getting one and making it a local PVR patch over MOW car but I am curious.... Don't know much about the ACL and left my Colour Guide at the office.
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Puddington,
I have a copy of Larry Goolsby book on ACL Passenger Service, and the MT looks very much like a photo of 3001 on p 134.  No doubt there are some detail discrepancies, but I would not have any problem running it as is, other than the paint scheme is later than my era (I do have one of the purple cars released many years ago). He lists the scheme as "C-7" and says they began to apply it to various heavyweight cars in 1957.  He says they used white letters on express box cars, and aluminum on the express refrigerator cars.  I wouldn't want to guess from artwork on a monitor screen which MT used.  In the photo, it looks like the aluminum was pretty close to white by the late 60s.

BTW- it is a very good book, highly recommend it.

I feel like I should have at least one of the NYC cars on my layout, being Chicago I am modeling and all.  I will most likely wait for the baggage car.

Yep you are right there. Nothing that would make me want to go out and bend my plastic.

Nothing for me.  But I'm limited in what MTL bodystyles would appeal to me right off the bat due to prototype fidelity issues, even before determining whether or not the deco scheme is appropriate/accurate.  So seeing an MTL release that appeals to me is the exception rather than the rules these days.
