Anniversary Express Set

:|     I received my N Quack (trak) Anniversary Express set yesterday. I must say I 'am very impressed. The Jim FitzGerald modernized business/observation car is very sharp looking in it' s L&N-like dark blue paint with silver roof and yellow striping and lettering. The Ben Davis Pullman car in the silver with shadow line striping is very impressive, MT did this scheme on two Lowell Smith Santa Fe Business cars, lastly the 40th Anniversary sleeper in Green with a sliver roof looks quite prototypical. The individual boxes/jewel cases have autobiographical information about Davis & FitzGerald and the third car a historical overview of Ntrak on the back of the paper inserts. :) Nate Goodman (Nato).

Nate,
These cars sound nice looking. Any chance you have pics that we could see?  :)

When I first heard about those (before seeing the drawings), I was going to order a set. But after seeing the crazy multicolor scheme (each car is totally different), I decided that those aren't for me.  I expected something more stately (or at least uniform in color).

I have a set, it looks good.  I confess that it my suggestion to do the shadow scheme on one of the cars and Imitation Gold printing rather than metallic gold on one of the other cars (since it had A/C).  Since two business/private cars such as these wouldn't be running together (in the glory years) or would be with a hodge-podge of other schemes (in the present), I don't see the individual schemes as an issue.

I don't know, I just expected something more elegant for this occasion.  To me the paint scheme compares to someone wearing a tie-dyed t-shirt, cut-off jeans and sandals (with 2 different color socks) to an event where a tuxedo would be more appropriate.  That's alright, I'm already "collecting" too many N scale cars. Having 3 fewer won't make a difference.
