Showcase Miniatures #59 "Get a grip man"

"KW" Hi-Rail Grapple Truck #59 is our newest addition to the Showcase Miniatures N scale line up of MOW equipment.
If you liked the Ballast regulator Walter Vail recently finished then check out this new Grapple Truck.  Debbie will be posting them to the website immediately following Walters finalizing the mold work.  Of course I will update this post when they are ready.

Joe,

Great looking truck. I know that this isn't on the market yet, but this looks like you are well on the way to making a self-loading pulpwood truck (and trailer).

The grapple looks perfect for pulpwood. It would look very cool on your 1960s I type truck as well.

I could make that into a pulpwood truck.

I hope that Prentiss grapple will be available separately as so we may be able to put this onto other chassis.!!!

Gotta agree - its the same grapple used for loading sugarcane and the Baton Rough  DPW used a panel body truck like that for years to pick up brush and bulk trash when I was a kid.

Yet another nice and useful model from Showcase. A lot of modern-ear modelers will be happy!  Nice job Walter!  If Showcase keeps on bringing out this type of models, pretty soon the N-scalers won't have any reasons to complain that there aren't many modern utility vehicles available in N scale.  :D

So this brings up another needed detail component - hi rail rigs to graft onto existing trucks.

Thanks Guys, for the input. 

The truck is being finalized now and should be available by weeks end.  The grapple assembly will likely be a separate part number as well right from the start because there have been several requests.  This particular grapple may be a little light for heavy logging work but it would definitely fit in a pulpwood operation.  The logging industry from the early narrow gauge days right up to current trucking has always been one of my favorite topics.  Just like the "I" Type, several variations to this truck are planned and currently in the works.

If that is a Kenworth T800 cab, then a dual axle tractor version would be awfully nice to have.
