I just got this for about a minute, then things were back to normal:

Failed to Connect

The connection was refused when attempting to contact www.therailwire.net.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

I had that several times yesterday morning, using Firefox.

In the Best of archives under the lowering cars thread, I can't get the links to work.

Why not start another thread - the problem you are having has nothing to do with HostGator errors, or does it?

Could you be a bit more specific as to what the problem is?  Are the links internal on the Railwire or pointing to an outside website?  Can you give the URL link to the specific message (or page number in that thread) where you have the problem?

Check Gary's thread instead.  I think you're looking at mine which is quite old.  Gary's is better and newer!

Peteski, I get a Hostgator 404 error (page not found) when clicking on any of the links in the lowering cars thread.  Tom, I assume you are talking about the body mount coupler thread?

Ok, I suspect you are looking ad this thread: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=4350.0
The links are also not working for me (those messages are back from 2006).  I suspect that the software updates made those old links unusable.

Tom?

@Kentuckian :

I see now.  Yes, those are my threads from prior to 2006, when the forum software changed.  They don't exist, so you see the big HostGator error/not found message.

Good news is that they are outdated.   :D  A lot has changed in those years and Gary's thread tells you more:  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=21980.0

Essentially, BLMA trucks allow you to lower MT boxcars without any filing.  Other cars require a little work.  Further, ESMC underframes are available to add to MT cars where draft gear is needed.  More and more cars are coming from the manufacturer already at proper ride height.

Thanks.  I have been updating the fleet with other manufacturers equipment, but I have a few MT that I want to upgrade.
