the Victorian 2 story reminds me of quite a few I have seen in the Lehigh Valley and Montgomery County areas of Pennsylvania.
Yes, plenty of 3 story ones as well. But the 2 story variety are very present.

It wasn't you who thought it was too small - it was garethashenden.

Still, implying it is too small is also implying it could be bigger, by the addition of a second "kit".  Not that DPM will likely give us kits.  It seems to be headed to pre-built only.

Out of curiosity, is it possible on this site to have a file repository?  Perhaps where someone could create a drawing in an accessible for mat (say PDF) for those who wanted to make their own?

WS will typically announce their kits six months after the built UPS appear. I have no reason not to believe this will be available in kit form. The problem is that they use a very basic kit to aid in producing the built UPS. The for walls will be attached, probably with the roof. This would make kit bashes a lot more difficult.

Personally, I'd like to see something a little more normal.  Around here there's plenty of Sears' Vallonias.  Atlas, are you listening?

Not the same as your photo, but the same general idea.

These are catalog homes, though I do not believe they are from Sears. There were several companies in the late 1800's that sold kits and this specific model was very popular in Natick center along Pond Street. They are very small houses... about 25 by about 40 feet. I lived next to the bottom one in the white house in the background for a few years.

This one is a VERY close match to the WS model:

Daniel, Thank you for posting the photos.  I'm guessing the price will be in the the mid 50's?? Does anyone own any of the other pre-built structures by Woodland Scenics? Are they worth the price?

It's irritatingly cute.  There will be millions sold to wives struggling to buy guys things for their layouts.  Personally, I look forward to getting one and cutting off the porch, blanking a couple of windows, and hanging a window AC unit out the attic dormer.  To finish it off I'll put a "For Rent" sign in the window.

Or better yet, taking the same money, buying some plastruct and evergreen, and building 2 dozen of them.

I'd like to see someone take on the whole Sears house catalog.  Then we could all put Russell's house on our layouts!

I think my current house may be a Sears house but I have not found proof either way. It is very similar to several bungalows they offered but I have not been able to find any part numbers on the lumber.

Cute house, but certainly too squat and low for my area.  They're all "2" stories at least.  In some cases that style of roof was an ancient tax-cheat where they'd try to pass it off as an attic to pay less taxes per sq. ft.  But anything of that style roof would always have 2 stories under it.

That "Sears" house posted looks very much like the most common style of house here, but once again like it's missing a story.

Looks legit to me. Here in the Northeast, there are plenty just like that with the flat roof in all sizes.

Nope - messages only.
But of you go to the Weathering section of the forum and check out the Sss index (sticky), you will see how Gary worked around that.

I have not seen any of their built-ups available as a kit ever :?

BLW carried them (I can't find them on their website now).  Bit as it was stated, they were not really kitbash-friendly.

EDIT:
Found them! http://www.blwnscale.com/ws-prefab.htm
Looks  like they are still available.

The basic building is assembled, but the decorating and addition of all the enclosed detail parts are USER installed.

I just ordered a few kits. Wow why don't they advertise these?

Seriously I gotta say it again.

This is like a whole new line of kits I never knew about. They are not much more than their regular kits, but come with soooo much more.

Ordering more  :P
