I think, other than ride height, that the Northern Pacific USRA wood boxcar is correct.  The ride height can be corrected with a pair of Atlas S-2A 50-ton trucks and #1015 (or #2004) body-mounted couplers.

Unfortunately the NP did not have USRA boxcars.  All of their double sheathed cars were of the home-built, radial roof variety.

What BN Boxcar?  :?
The first weathered/graffiti car for the month is a BN 50' Single Door boxcar

That one was actually last month's weathered car.  They come out mid-month so I guess they just left it on the page.

Not saying you care, but that BN boxcar was off the ORER by the late 80's.   The chance of it having the over-the-top graffiti like that is almost zero. (the "side B", though, might be more plausible.)

Anyone know anything about the accuracy of the CB&Q box car?  The ends look too modern for a car built in 1947.  Can't find the series at all in the CB&Q "Color" book and apparently that series did not go into the BN.

Eh, it's interesting and could fade into the background pretty easily, but good point

Does the NYC Pullman win the closest to prototype award this month?  East Alton was at least a Plan 3410 car with mechanical AC, so that's a good start.  How about the late TTG paint?

No, the color of the lettering and pinstripes is wrong.  Should be a silver-white, not stencil white, and the car would then have been prototypical.  The NYCSHS made note of that in their quarterly magazine when the RPO was released, but it appears MTL is stuck with the error at this point and has to see the full series through.  I expect the eventual parlor, coach and observation to be incorrect as well.  Doubly disappointing regarding the parlor, as NYC leased/owned the largest fleet of Plan 3416 parlors.

Believe it or not Bryan,  Gregg would still like to offer this car as a kit and he has actually built three different varieties.  There is still hope.  I wouldn't hold your breath, but...

Umm... "Expressway"..............that seems to be TOFC.... Where did you hear of this moratorium...? Not heard a thing although Hunter Harrison is capable of damn near anything..........  :facepalm:

When they closed all the small intermodal terminals, like the one in Smiths Falls. Can't recall the year exactly, but they very much indeed effectively banned all TOFC from the railroad by enacting a policy the essentially has them refuse to handle it. And it had nothing to do with EHH... may have even preceded Fred Green. They only want cans, to vans. The eXpressway is its own unique beast and is not considered TOFC by CP. Its saving grace is that it requires nothing more than a gravel or better covered area to load and there is no lifting involved.
