Mmm Tamiya Panzer Grey. Nowhere close to the real Dunkelgrau its supposed to represent. But is an a great replacement for the model master grimy black.
Love it! And with the weight you've added it has a chance at decent performance. Nice work!
Glad this project is still alive and well!
It's pretty cool to see those cars with your Plymouth on a layout. I'll eventually have more varieties of rolling stock and I do have some functioning dummy knuckle couplers for those if you ever want to couple to a regular "Z"/ Nn3 coupler. They are a step up design to align with regular "Z" height couplers and install individually with the existing pins so you could also install one on just one end as an adapter car. Love it!
Codycontinuing in very fine modeling. your work, as always, looks quite good 👍thanks for sharingsincerelyGary
What I really need is a cheaper alternative to the modified Märklin chassis that I have been using under my “Irish” stock. Something that works out to the same height and takes a similar sized wheel so that it matches what I already have. I used to be able to pick up the little Marklin ballast cars for $10-$15 on eBay here and there, but anymore they’re $25-$30 and that’s a lot to pay just to scavenge and butcher the chassis.
Could you post a pic or link of what you're talking about?
I’ll have to dig up some of the old photos. I tried going back in the thread to look but apparently all my old attachments are no longer valid.
