HobbyTrain made a model of a tamper.  Self-propelled.

Well it has a motor in it,  I wouldn't go as far to say it is capable of propelling itself.

Sort of, kind of.  If it's going downhill.   :P

I've yet to try and decoderize, Americanize, or improvise mine.  But I still think it's a cool little model, and it was able to make it around the layout on its own, but barely...it definitely needs some TLC.

I'm sure Ron Bearden had a ballast regulator overnighted and is halfway to powering it already.   :o

Agreed.  Mine is fully disassembled, sitting on my workbench, along with a dozen of other half-finished projects.

Same here.  I had anguished for years hoping Kibri would bring some stuff (other than the crane) to N,
but no more.  The machines Showcase are doing are much more common here anyway.

I've found my solution: post the link to Joe's blog and web site on my italian US RR forum and on another forun dedicated to N scale and .... Big interest!
Additionally one former Rrer said it's very similar to an old Italian Mow and Austrian Rr have buy the project from It FS...
Simply : Spread the word if don't fit my era-locale

Guess maybe this one is even closer, just missing its arms?  Or is this something else entirely?

Same thing just different manufacturer.  You can easily take the wings off for different plow arrangements.

Love this and I'm ordering now. Guess I can stop designing the machines in Shapeways!
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1
