FINALLY!  All the pieces for the G22b fell together.  Of course DKS' beautiful NZT containers were available in record time for any N scale product.  I had to wait a while to get the TrainCat G22b kit, then I had to wait to get the decals.

The brass kit went together fairly well.  Painted and weathered for portland cement service.  Photos show these containers regularly had a good coating of cement dust and streaked from the dust mixing with rain water.

All the pieces make a pretty nice model and I have it in time to bring to the PRRT&HS annual meeting 3 weeks from now.

Looks great, Doug! When I'm able to airbrush again, I'll be doing mine up in a similar fashion.

Alternate version:

He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Thanks for all the nice comments.  Some great work from others too.

To answer a few questions, yes, I've had this scene constructed for a while.  I did just shoot the photo I posted yesterday morning to match the lead photo.  I scratchbuilt all five bridges using styrene and various bridge parts.

The scene modeled after a real location' and the model photo matching the real photo are really cool!  Is that N or H0 scale?

Late to the show, as usual for me.
I did a re-motor on this old cuss, replacing the burned up Fleischmann 3 pole strait wound with a new 5 pole skew wound bachman one from a condi.

I bought the thing years ago, when I was in germany as a basket case, the locomotive it's self was a good "runner," it was just the tender drive that was shot. The pick up left something to desire also, being only on the drivers of the loco. so not long after I got the loco, I added tender pickups, but the motor was weak at best. about a year ago, it flat out died, and I put the loco away. this weekend, I ran across said bachman motor, did some mesurement, and determined it would fit, and the worm was the corect pitch and size to interface with the existing gears. Hack, Bash and build for about 2 hours, it's running strong, and decodered.

Also, I worked on this beast:

I had some more time today to work on the shoving car and decided to try the graffiti on my own instead of going generic. I still need to do the ends but this is what I have so far. I do not have a good pictur of one side but doing my best with what I have.

Thanks Pete , they are all acrylics. Some polly scale some model master and some craft paint. Mixed all of the colors on a pallet.
Thanks , Mike

It's N scale. Absolutely. What else is there?

Mike, great job on replicating the graffiti by hand, especially figuring out the other side with only that sharp perspective photo to work from.  Looks far better and more organic than how decals would look.

I got very little modeling done this week but I caught this amazing consist on the Indiana Northeastern RR mainline. Class 1 power is common to the line, typically just NS power, but today I was treated to a KCS SD70ACe with a GP7, GP10, and a GP30 trailing. This was taken outside Angola, IN.

NICE SHOT!

First generation power, second generation power, and whatever-the-heck-number generation the SD70ACe is: Ed's Law strikes again.

Mike , your a closet Andy Warhol ! You can sell models like that for real money especially if marketed properly , such as Mike Fifer's One Offs or something better .
