AND a stub ended yard right where the track curves around ala model railroaders!!!

Proto for EVERYTHING 8-P
If you look at the latest satellite photos, the scrap yard has taken over everything inside the baloon............and it looks like they are increasing their metal by eating  those yard tracks

The brass kit went together fairly well.  Painted and weathered for portland cement service.  Photos show these containers regularly had a good coating of cement dust and streaked from the dust mixing with rain water.

All the pieces make a pretty nice model and I have it in time to bring to the PRRT&HS annual meeting 3 weeks from now.

Doug Nelson

Doug,

That looks great. Did you solder the kit or use glue? It looks like it least the small details were soldered.

Scott: this bridge looks fantastic!  And I love the piers...

might I ask what you used for the telegraph line hangers?  They look like castings.

Mark,

I etched them as two parts, and assembled them with a simple tab-slot.  Here is the artwork.

Edit:  Photobucket is not cooperating.  The brackets are in the left bottom of the larger sheet.

Nothing photogenic as I cut more risers and started drilling out the pocket holes (I have a Kreg Jig, buts purchase I ever made besides my Miter Saw). I also went to two operation sessions this weekend, ran 2 trains at each, both locals, both taking me over an hour to finish each (one, I was the last one there),

Would you have any left over you could part with?

Well i haven't done much but i have done some work. I know I am no Mark Dance but i am going to try my hand at a bridge scene.

Here is the Prototype bridge mine will be based on. I am going to just have a river in my valley and my track is double.

And the start of my bridge scene.

Some great work this week.  RSW, that scene is fantastic, I love the look of that scene.  And the Beatton River bridge scene on the first page is really coming together nicely.

For my part, I managed to get some painting done and the final details on my main arch for the Cisco bridge.  Lots of tiny parts that don't add much to the large view, but look nice up close.  I've laid a base coat successfully on everything else and will move to paint the main arch next, and top coats of orange and weathered black.

I also, for the first time, painted track.  In this case, the deck where I had to extend the ties of the ME bridge track.  It transforms the look- I can't believe I have not done this before...

ScottL and Mark "Bridge" Dance"r". Awesome work from both of them.

Better question, do they have any left and who are they?

I work one week late on W/U. From a quick trip to Strasburg last week.

Their new picnic grove has opened up some new photo locations, and I really do enjoy an annual day of railfanning out there. It's like shooting exotic fish in a beautiful barrel.

And being their in the spring opens up all sorts of views that might otherwise not be possible when the corn is as high as an elephant's eye.

Nice stuff everyone!

I've got too much going on at once but got this house planted and landscaped in:

Lots more to do on this one but it's moving along!
