The only problem I can see is production capacity. To meet the demand for NS and CSX hoppers alone would probably mean MT couldn't make anything else...Making 10-packs they could sell a new batch every month for decades without repeating a number. That should keep the collectors busy - and broke.
Hmmm ... maybe I should have tried this tactic with the New Haven heavyweights. And the red 36' Swift wood meat reefer. And the Ringling Brothers 12-1 heavyweight advertising car. And ...
Oh now, come on; who would be dumb enough to announce an entire line of New Haven passenger cars in N scale? They'd have be crazy.......
