Fox Valley ES44AC units, CN paint announced

PWRS is reserving for custom painted CN units, four numbers.  Great to see, as these units have become common almost everywhere on the railroad.  These should be nice! :D

No, these are AC units in the 2800 series.  It is only posted on PWRS, not Fox Valley.

PWRS, eh? How much are they asking for them?

The 2800's are pretty much confined to coal and potash in western Canada (for now), largely in the mountains (perfect for Cisco) and into Chicago (and on the old DM&IR). I've seen two to date in the Toronto area, and one was on it's maiden voyage upon delivery (2858). The other was on the Kingston Sub (2801) this past winter, so was not being delivered and was a rare case of one wandering. I shoot enough to know what I don't see, and I don 't see any 2800's out here... but really, it's just another GEVO, so who cares, right.

You modern guys... all the engines look the same

If I feel like overpaying for bad customer service, PWRS is always my first choice!

Ha ha, apparently there are differences between the AC and DC units and toasters aren't just toasters- who would have guessed?  The novelty of a locomotive I don't have to kitbash is too compelling, I don't mind paying a little more.  I've seen the 2800 units on the Kingston sub, but I agree, they are more for the western lines where I model.

I have no issues with PWRS.  This has come up before on TRW before and I think some people just don't like that style of operation or understand the benefits.  In my experience, they bring a lot to the table in terms of putting out new tooling, custom paint and a great aggregation service.  It took some getting used to but Dan spent time leading me through it, and now I like it a lot. Can't wait for my potash cars this summer :D

If the company sold Conrail goodness, you might change your tune.

Those  new potash cars are unit train only, or do they make it around in 1-2's...???

Packages of six only.  There are four paint schemes for the gray version and there is a potash pink version too, 24 numbers of each I believe.

I might part with a few if you are interested, as I wanted 15-16 and had to order 18.  Mine are all modern versions with reflective yellow stripes.

They run in ones and twos through Toronto, so they could likely wind up anywhere as a single car.
