What about a street car/trolly line of some kind? I have always wondered what could REALISTICLY be done for the bachmann brills, PCC, and Peter Witts. Like the european stuff, I have always had a soft spot for street cars and such....

Hmmm.....I have a Brill, Maybe I should put my money where my mouth is, and try something of my own.....

If the Tomix track becomes surplus to your needs, then I'd be willing to purchase from you any pieces that would fit into the compact version of the plan. I'll have to crunch some numbers, but I'd imagine that I could swing it, and not divert any money from my UK-trip spending money.

The thought had crossed my mind--after all, the layout is loosely inspired by a traction railroad. But if I did that, I'd want to model the freight component of the line, which would involve building unique traction locomotives; indeed, I've been toying with the idea of a full-sized layout based on the Trenton Traction Company for many years. The whole point of this little layout is to make something quick, simple and fun--sort of "plug-and-play" amusement while I'm temporarily living in a small apartment--and for that I was visualizing a particular theme.

If the Tomix track becomes surplus to your needs, then I'd be willing to purchase from you any pieces that would fit into the compact version of the plan.

Making some headway with the "just for kicks" micro-layout. Thought about doing something to disguise the heavy rail, etc., but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it. Figured going a little overboard with weeds might be more fun.











The road bridge over the tracks is based on a real one located along the road after which it's named.

I love the green high-water mark on the edge of the creek.  Nice touch.
The exposed pavers peeking out of the asphalt on the bridge remind me of what I often saw on the streets of Poland as a kid.  I also like the pipe running along the top edge - very realistic detail. But the rusty bridge looks a bit too yellow for my taste.

How are you getting such a large DOF in your photos? Are those single exposures or stacked photos?

If you mean the greenery, that's Heki 1675 foliage material plus Silflor Buttercup.

That's the lighting. In real life, it's closer to the prototype. All of the colors are messed up in the photos.

Single exposures: Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS, AV (aperture priority) mode, macro, f/8.

Here are a couple of shots taken on the kitchen table in natural daylight. These are much closer to the true color.
